Education
JJS is dedicated to transforming lives through inclusive and quality education, focusing on the most marginalized communities. The organization works to ensure that children from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, slums, and those engaged in child labor have access to primary education. For out-of-school girls and adolescent dropouts, JJS runs Non-Formal Education (NFE) Centers to provide learning opportunities tailored to their needs.
To bridge gaps in education, JJS conducts bridge courses for children of the Weaver (Bunkar) community and supports the enrollment of out-of-school children, especially girls, into formal schools. The organization also strengthens government schools by skilling children through computer literacy programs and assisting in the development of curricula that align with the needs of enrolled students.
Retention of enrolled children is a key focus, achieved by supporting schools in creating engaging learning environments and empowering teachers and trainers through capacity-building programs. Parent-teacher meetings are facilitated to encourage active parental involvement in their children's education, while school management committees at the panchayat level are strengthened to ensure effective governance.
Beyond education, JJS enhances child well-being through regular health camps, addressing the holistic needs of students. Community awareness campaigns and adult literacy programs further reinforce the value of education, fostering a culture of learning and empowerment that extends across generations. Through these comprehensive initiatives, JJS is building pathways for sustainable development and brighter futures.
